Day 12:

Nom nom nom! Mom's ear is so tasty. Especially when she is sleeping. That is the *best* time to chew it because she can't stop me.. right away. Then she squeals and I'm not sure if she is playing or if I chewed too hard. I still have to figure that out.
I've learned that I am not allowed to potty on the bed. However, I've decided the corner is a great place to potty! Mom keeps telling me no, and taking me outside, but I really like to potty in the corner. I mean, she doesn't mind, right? Right??
Last night I had a bath. Not just a bath like the other one I had, but a super bath. I had soap everywhere! Then Mom cleaned out my ears, she cleaned my teeth and she trimmed my nails. Then she brushed me making me all poofy and soft. Afterwards I just wanted to sleep, but I was also so happy I wanted to play! Sometimes I can't decide what I want to do more. Sleep or play.
Today I went on a trip with Mom and met lots of great people! We went to the pet store too, and I love that place! They have treats and people who always pay attention to me. We also practiced walking on a leash, and sit. I'm catching on a little bit at a time.
Mom is laying down watching a movie and I've learned the comfy spot is right on the pillow with her, or right next to her. I love snuggling!!

Day 9:

I'm such a special girl! I woke up all cuddled up with Mom on the bed. I could really really get used to this. I can't wait till I am old enough that I can sleep on the bed every night. I was feeling much better this morning too and was back to my puppy self. Boy, was I hungry! I don't think I've eaten my whole bowl at all until now. Mom says I have a fat little belly. She loves it. She kisses it and rubs it and I always smile and play with her when she does!
Today I was given SO much praise. Everyday we work on different 'commands.' 'Sit' is a big one and I think I am doing well. Sometimes I do it but then I get excited and jump up. Another is 'off' and the last is 'paw.' Today Mom was so happy because during our practice time I gave her my paw on command not one, not two, but three times! You should have seen all the pets and kisses and treats! It was the best thing ever. My smile was so so so big. I can't wait to see what other things I get for learning all the other commands.
Mom says when I am older she is going to take me to this fun playtime thing called 'Agility' I don't know what that is, but I like playtime!
Tonight we went to work. I got to play with the teeny chihuahua named Brutus. He doesn't like to play much but I like to play with him. They also have this big yummy bone and I spent a good hour just chewing on it. So delicious! I wonder if I will get to chew on that bone more tomorrow....

Day 8:

Mom says she isn't taking a picture of me today because I've a horribly awful really bad day. The first part was great! We went walking and despite that icky rain, I had fun! I found a leaf and another leaf, and another leaf.. they're everywhere! Then a little bit later I am just minding my own business, bouncing around with the toys and I guess I bounced a little too close to the sleeping Nella and she bit me, really hard on the nose. I cried a lot because there was blood and it hurt. Mom stayed with me all night and she even let me sleep on the bed with her. I felt really really special. I just cuddled and cuddled and cuddled. I am hoping tomorrow will be a better day.

Day 7:

Omgomgomgomgomgtoystoystoystoystoys!!
I am so very hyper today. I am not sure why. I woke up early and I just wanted to play play play! I was bouncing around from toy to toy to toy. I was playing tug of war with Mom and I started doing a little playful growl. When we went out for a potty break walk, I found a stick, and I was so proud of myself. My first stick! I was carrying it with my head held high and a little jump in my steps. A stick!
At work today I got to play with Ruthie the doxie again. She is so much fun! We were playing with the octopus toy and my little tail would not stop wagging!
On the way home from work, Mom let me walk for two blocks. I was such a happy puppy. I am getting so good at walking, although I have to run the entire time to keep up with Mom. She has such big legs and mine are so so small right now! I know that one day, I will be tall and keeping up with her will be no problem. When I am all grown up, I will be able to walk next to Mom all the time!

Day 6:

No! I hear this word so much. No bite! No chew! No! The world is so exciting, especially as I am seeing so much for the first time, and I just want to play and taste everything. No matter how I try I get "No!" "No!" "No!"
Ok. Ok, I am not being fair. I also get a lot of "Good Sadie" and "Good girl" and "Good potty!" "Good chew!" among others, but it is the NO that frustrates me the most. I just want to chew the scarf, or your toes, what is the big problem? That laptop? It's tasty. The phone? Also tasty! I love the taste of your hair, your ears, your sweater. Silly Mom. Can't you see I'm just enjoying myself?
I want to be a big puppy. I want to play with the big puppy toys. Although secretly, I am still a little timid. Today I was playing with Charles the basset hound and boy was he fun! When he started barking at me though, I ran and hid in the corner and cried. I just wanted Mom to hold me. She wouldn't! She made me stay there while the big dog bounced around. Such a meanie.
I got a new nickname today, from a coworker of Mom's. He says I look like a raccoon. First, do I? Second, what is a raccoon???

Day 5:

Hurray! The rain was gone this morning. Mom says I am SO smart! I am learning to walk very well on the leash. I just want to walk with my family, and squirm a lot now when Mom picks me up. Especially when we were on the beach. I want to run and play with my brother but Mom says it has to wait till I am older. When I am walking, I always like to find a leaf to pounce on and carry. They are so crunchy and they fly so well! The perfect little things to pounce and play with!
I am learning to bark. When I get excited I bark and wiggle my bum. I really want Nanuq to play with me, but he hasn't yet. He did let me snuggle a little bit earlier, but then he got up and walked away. So I got up and went to snuggle with Mom.
I'm learning new little things everyday. I know when we go to the grass I am supposed to potty! Mom says that makes me a very very smart girl. Although, admittedly, I still potty in the house. I'm also learning sit and have learned that if I jump on Mom she ignores me. If I sit in front of her, she will pet me and tell me I am a good girl! There are so many words to learn. "Sadie" being the first one. I'm starting to catch on that Sadie means ME!
I really like the kitties too. They make funny meow noises and it makes me turn my head. They are smaller like me, and so I want to play with them! Ree hit me with her paw, which I didn't like very much but Tabitha is fun to play with and I think her and I are going to be friends. Jazzy won't let me near her, but I hope that one day her and I can be friends too.
I can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring! I have some pretty pictures of my brother and sister. Look!

Day 4:

This morning I woke up bright and early, but Mom was so proud of me since I slept almost through the entire night! I was so excited to go outside but when we *finally* got there, it was spitting water from the sky! Just like the bath, I am not a fan of this water from the sky thing that my Mom calls rain. After I was such a good girl and went potty outside, Mom scooped me up and put me inside her oh so very warm sweater. As we got closer to the beach place that my brother loves so much I huddled even farther inside the sweater. I remember seeing Nanuq run in the rain into the water on the beach and Nella jumping around in the sand. The wind was so mean, so I hid and so I missed the rest of the adventure until we got back home. I was happy to be back inside and started bouncing around but soon Mom was picking me up again and we went back outside in the mean rain! I curled up inside her sweater and before I knew it, I was fast asleep. Sometime later I woke up at the work place again. I met some more great people and everyone was cuddling me and giving me kisses. Not to mention squealing when they see me and tell me I am SO cute! Of course I am, and I know it!
I got to bring my new toy with me, and I spent most of the day napping and playing with the Penguin. The nice lady Carly and Mom kept coming to get me and take me outside to potty and then to play. After lunch Mom let me play with another dog named Chewie. Chewie is a doxie and I liked him! Then I took a nap again and soon Carly brought me out to play. Mom was doing more of that cleaning stuff but in the meantime I got to run around in the hallways with Carly. I met more nice people and had so much fun. As I've learned, all fun has to stop and eventually mom picked me up and we went home.
At home I was SO happy to see my brother and sister! I bounced over to Nella and gave her my best tail wag. I bounced over to Nanuq and even gave him a few happy barks. We all went for a walk and then settled in for the night. I gathered my little red JW ball, my penguin, and two of Nanuq's toy (the boomerang and the octopus) and spent most of the night bouncing from toy to toy to toy. I took a short nap on the bed because it is sooo comfy. I curled up with Mom and I loved every minute of it! We just got back inside from a late night walk and Mom is telling me it is bedtime. I don't wannna go to bed, but I know that tomorrow will be another exciting day!

Day 3:

Woke up at the work place. The place started getting exciting! People started coming and going. Because I was in the office thingy, I had people giving me lots of kisses and squeals of how "cute she is!" I fell asleep and soon Mom was waking me up as it was time to go home. We spent most of the day napping and playing. Then Mom took me to this place called the Vet. I wasn't scared at all! They told me I was all healthy and gave me a super yummy treat and belly rubs. They said my stitches look great and they will come out soon. The nice vet lady also told me I was the cutest puppy she had ever seen! That made me so proud and I wagged my tail. After that Mom was talking to some guy at the counter for awhile and I fell asleep on the counter because I was sooo tired. Mom picked me up and I felt us get on that train thingy again and I woke up in a puppy Wonderland! People were petting me and Mom let me choose out three new toys! She also bought me a smaller food dish because I was having trouble with the other one she had bought me. On the train home from the puppy toy store I was so sleepy that I just passed out. Lots of people wanted to pet me, but I could barely open my eyes. When I got home though, I found myself very rested from my nap and played with my new toys and with my brother. I started bouncing around him and I even let out a bark or two! I grabbed his ear and he jumped so high. This made me want to bounce at him even more. Mom was laughing. Well, Nanuq WAS being silly! It definitely wasn't me. Mom doesn't like me peeing in the house so I am trying really hard to make her happy even though I don't understand why. I have a nice little spot outside and I like to use. Mom says I am so smart. That I am! After our night walk I was so sleepy from such a long day. Goodnight!

Day 2:

I'm not a fan of this crate thing but I'm slowly getting used to it. I'm jealous cause I can see Mom and Nanuq and Nella all snuggling on the bed and I want to snuggle too. Mom tells me I will be allowed to when I am older.
We went for an exciting walk again today. My brother Nanuq was running on the beach with some other dogs. I was squirming in Mom's arms because I wanted to play too but she wouldn't let me. Such a meanie sometimes! She did let me start walking a little bit in a circle around the block. Oh boy do I like it! I can't help but wag my tail. Nanuq and Nella walk with us and I just run and run and run to keep up with them. They have such long legs! I hope one day I have long legs too so I can walk as fast as them. Mom keeps scolding me for pouncing her feet when we are walking. It is so hard not to pounce. The feet are moving and it makes me giddy! Later Mom and Nanuq and Nella and I went to this thing called work. There is this big room with a bed and a crate. Mom cleaned everything so it smelled pretty bad but then once it was clean I was allowed to run around the room with my siblings. I could see all these other dogs playing in the pen. I was very curious. Maybe one day I can play with them too! There was so much excitement and I fell asleep so quickly. What a fun day!

Day 1:

Hi everyone! I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Sadie. Well, that is my new name. At first the place where I was called me Neva. I had SO many brothers and sisters and came from a fantastic placed called Wright Way Rescue. http://www.wrightwayrescue.net/

I am an Australian Shepherd mix. My birthday is September 20, 2011 which makes me currently 8 weeks old. So, here we go. This is my new blog!

It was a strange day today! I met this lady and she instantly she gave me cuddles and kisses and I liked her right away. I curled up in her arms and when she put me down to play I just wanted to snuggle in her lap some more. Then I went back to play with my brothers and sisters. A little while later I was given to the nice lady and she took me on an adventure! We walked and she held me in her arms, talking to me the whole time. I loved to look around and sniff the air because everything was so different. She took me on 2 "buses" and a "train" and the entire time I was getting so much attention from this nice lady and other people. Eventually we got to a warm place and this lady told me I was home. Wow, this home place was exciting! First I met my new sister Nella. She was wagging her tail and so so very excited to meet me. I wagged my little stumpy tail back at her and we were instant friends. I tried to play with her but she doesn't like to share her toys so I went to meet my other new friends. Nanuq is my new brother and I like him sooo much! He is big but he is fluffy like me. I really want to play with him but I am still a little shy. Later the lady took me and the other dogs on a long walk. She wouldn't let me walk much but when she let me down I had so much fun! I was chasing leaves and just having a grand old time! That night I curled up in the lady's lap as she worked on some computer thing. I've decided I like this lady a lot. I think I will call her Mom.
